Shane

Excited from the cinema always the classics have been me touching. Obviously there are many types of films in the cinematographic industry, drama, comedy, musical comedies, erotic, historical… but you always have predilection for one of them. In my case, since I was a kid I have been always fascinated by the westerns.
I remember when my father and I made efforts to mobilize the substraction of the family in order to press that famous red button of the video, the REC, in order to keep on extending the video library of Can Sala, and afterwards, time went by resting in front of the TV and admiring those fabulous movies which reflected the changes due to colonization and fights of powers that reshaped the American society in every state.
The list is extensive, from The Man who killed Liberty Valance, with a great performance by Lee Marvin; Rio Bravo with John Whayne and Robert Mitchum; High Noon with Gary Cooper and the beauty of Grace Kelly; Stagecoach another time with John Whayne; Sergeant Rutledge with Woody Strode and Jeffrey Hunter; The Man from Laramie and Winchester 73 with James Stewart; Gunfight at the Ok Corral with Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster, and a length etc. All of them are particular, especial, different from one to another, but there is one that especially impact our family with a great deal, even to my sister, who normally couldn’t stand this sort of movies, it was Shane.
The trip is so amazing, as much passionate, as rich, that the mixture of stages, smells, and people drive us vividly and fastly to the past thanks to the composition among images and words interconnected in this range of time between past and present. Thus, meeting an Australian guy, thin and slender, friendly, and adventurous, who got a mind to know and see as much as he can travelling around the world, before he comes back to his Australian shores, has allowed me relieve that work of art, performed by actors of first level, such a young Jack Palance, acting as a gunman on salary, without neither sentiment nor ideals further than his whisky his guns and expecting to show to everyone that he was still the fastest gunner in the far west, the Alan Ladd, as a regretted gunman, turned bitter, sad, loaded of values, loving the lost causes and willing to start a different life somewhere his past wasn’t known, and Brandon De wilde, Joey, a young kid with a tiny body where his blond hair highlighted radiant and whose smile and tenderness captivated the world.
Along with the Australian guy, we have performed, remembered famous passages of the movie, we have shared them with other backpackers and the biggest moment comes when we say goodbye because the day has gone, and it arrives that great and magic moment when we claim louder, Don’t go Shane, Shane don’t go, Shane!!!Thus, this is the name of the Australian guy.

We reached Bolivia willingly to start exploring the Lake Titicaca. It sits 3800m above sea level making one of the highest commercially navigable lakes in the world. Its area is about 8300 square meters and there are many ways from where you can come over it, from the small villages of its surroundings or from the islands located in the middle of its water too. From one of this islands, Isla del Sol, we have discovered a magic and a very special place, with stunning scenery that made us feel in a way that we hadn't experienced before, in many countries and cities also so far away. It might seem that we have found the idealistic image of a non touristy place with only locals. However, this spot has a steady flood of tourists, whose presence doesn’t break their way of living at all. Although the Aymaras are shy people and not very talkative people, but they’ve got a particular charm developing every kind of task they do;gathering the cattle, cultivating the land, looking after their children and excelling getting on with other people. We might think that their way of life is prehistoric, archaic or even retrograde, but what it seems to us is that they have got some features of the prosumers, the people of the twenty first century, whose lives will be reshaped in order to adjust to the new circumstances that we’re facing as a human beings in this world. They eat what they cultivate and commerce with the small amount left; they work part time in the tourism industry; they love and take care of their environment because they are aware of its importance; they don’t spend much fuel because they work at home and only take transports in purposes such holidays or real need. It doesn’t come to their minds to exploit the natural resources until its death, even when they know they could get better revenues, so this assumption is inconceivable for them. We have come up with a community which hasn't already got the high technology yet, so they keep working with rudimentary tools, but with some features of living that probably might become a pattern in this twenty first century. With this assertion, we d'ont mean that we'll be back to the stone era, but we believe that the house is going to be the headquarters of the social life, the education of children and the enterprise where we'll generate our revenues. The Aymara, invited us to have a look at our past and to reflect on some behaviours that we considered vital in our lives, and also they helped us to look at the future with a huge optimism.

No només "Pura Sal"

In this writing we'd like to express our fascination about the three days tour that we did in the Salt flat of Uyuni. Everybody Knows or has heard something about the Salt flat, but what we didn’t expect at all, were the stunning resources surrounding it which belongs to the Potosi region, too.
We started visiting the Train Cemetery, then “la Isla del Pescado” which is located in the middle of the Salt flat. The following step was looking at an active volcano and a lot of colourful small lakes full of “flamingos” totally amazed.
Last day we woke up at five o’clock in the morning in order to visit some Geysers and “Fumerolas”. Finally, this marvellous area gave us the last present of the day, letting us swimming in a natural hot spring (35 degree Celcius), at 4800m above sea level in the middle of a stunning scenery of chains of mountains that were around us. Besides, we can ensure you that all the paths that we did by car, were worth because of the gorgeous desert's landscape and magnificient mountains alike.
Bolivia, as the poorest country in South America, hasn't got the influence and recognition as most of its neigbours but has an array of natural resources that make us claim louder... Incredible!!!!
